THE HEALING PROCESS & AFTERCARE
It is crucial that aftercare instructions are followed during the healing process. Failure to do so may affect results.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You may be red and swollen for the first 24 hours. This is normal. It will subside within 24 hours. Your brows will be considerably darker than you would expect. This is part of the healing process and will lighten up about 30-50%. You will start to experience some scabbing and flaking during and around day 5- 7 of the healing process. When the scab peels off, it will look like there is nothing there. This is just the fresh skin being exposed and it is completely normal. It will take 7 to 10 days for them to completely heal and up to one month for the true color to resurface. This procedure does not affect your normal activities. You may resume normal activities and go back to work. However, please ensure you follow the after care instructions for best result and better pigment retention.
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
1. AVOID WATER CONTACT until the brows have fully peeled. If the area gets wet, pat dry gently with clea paper towel or tissue.
2. Apply the provided ointment starting DAY 3. Use a clean cotton swab to apply. Make sure you only apply a PAPER THIN amount to avoid clogging your pores and causing irritation. Do this 1x a day until the area has healed.
3. Avoid laser, chemical treatments or facials
4. Avoid activities that will attract airborne debris onto the treated area.
5. Avoid sun tanning, excessive sweating, saunas, hot steaming showers and swimming with your face under water.
6. DO NOT pick, scratch or peel the scabs off (even if they are hanging). Wait for them to fall off themselves.
7. Avoid making extreme facial expressions as this will cause the scabs to wrinkle, become loose and prematurely fall off.
8. Wash hands before touching the treated area to avoid infections.
9. Refrain from showering. Instead bathe and use a shower head to wash your hair in order to avoid getting the treated area wet.
10. Avoid sleeping on your stomach or side until you have completely healed.
11. You may wash your face while avoiding your treated area. DO NOT get your treated area wet.
12. No cream or makeup on the treated area besides the provided ointment.
13. Avoid excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds.
14. When the peeling is completed, you are able to proceed with your regular routine.
Never expect your permanent cosmetics to be perfect the very first time. There can be times where scabs come off too early and poor retention is caused. This is why it is crucial to come back for your touch-up appointment to fix any areas.
Depending on your body, skin type, and lifestyle, your permanent cosmetic area can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Most ladies like to come back for an annual touch up at a smaller cost. If you are a very active individual and are exposed to the sun often, your brows may fade quicker. You can maximize the length of your new brows by applying sunscreen to protect them from fading (after peeling is complete).
